ParkerBrand 17" Mowers: How to Set up For Mulching or Collection
Whether you have opted for the hand-push or self-drive version of our 17-inch mowers, you're in possession of a machine that will do the business.
We're big fans of mulching, the natural process of nourishing your lawn with its own trimmings. You can also apply mulch to your flower beds to feed the soil and suppress weeds. However, we understand that mulching is not to be done every time!
Your mower's collection bag has a generous 45-litre capacity. This means you won't have to constantly go back and forth emptying the clippings, giving you more time to enjoy your lawn or do other jobs.
Mowing with the mulcher
When mulching, remove the collection grass bag and put the plastic mulching plug into the rear discharge chute. Then, release the flap, and it will close back to cover the mulching plug. Make sure that the side discharge chute is not fixed on the deck. To ensure that the cut grass can be mulched efficiently, don't cut very long grass or wet dew-drenched grass. Mowing on a sunny day is always the best as you likely know!
Mowing with the side discharge
When using the side discharge to throw out grass, you must remove the grass collection bag and insert the mulching plug.
Assembling the side discharge chute
1. Push the lock button with one hand
2. Raise the side discharge cover with another hand
3. Hold the side discharge cover open and hook the side discharge chute onto the mower, then release the discharge cover back.
